May I study over a modem connection?

Contact your teacher.
 
How do I navigate the learning environment?
Use the navigation features in the software, avoid using your browser's navigation buttons.
 
What do I do if the software freezes?
First, click the update button of your browser. If this does not help, try the Esc key. If nothing happens, close your browser and restart it. As a last resort, you may always quit by pressing CTRL+ALT+Del.
