Learning is an expedition
The learning process is often represented as a path where learning takes place and progresses through various steps. Yrjö Engeström writes: "In the learning process, the learner is a researcher who seeks a solution and explanation model for an entity of phenomena, tries the model in practice and corrects it".
The learning process can be split up into phases, each of which requires certain actions from the learner in order to process the learning subject. Knowledge of the factors affecting the learning process helps the education planner to support the learner on the path of learning. The teacher and the learner must plan the learning path together so that it provides the optimum benefits for the learner.
